Under the distinguished patronage of Their Excellencies The governor General and Lady Foulkes, the Antiquities, Monuments and Museum Corporation (AMMC) launched a series of fundraising activities under the theme “Great Affairs” towards the establishment of the National Museum of The Bahamas at Collins House.
This very successful event took the format of the concert “An Evening of Popular Classical Music” in the Ballroom of Government House on Friday 24th February 2012.
The concert featured renowned performers of international and local acclaim and was possible through the generous donation of talent and time by Jack Foley and Franz Hepburn, and JoAnn Deveaux –Callender and featured accompanist Lee Callender.
The Chairman of the AMMC Board, Dean Patrick Adderley thanked the scores of Bahamians and residents who filled the Ballroom and enthusiastically demonstrated their appreciation for the performers.
The success of the event was accomplished because of the support and sponsorship of Mrs. Freda Madrisotti, Sir Durward Knowles, Mr. Ed. Fields, Mr. Werner Gruner, Dr. Davidson Hepburn and our corporate sponsors (Graham Real Estate, Teachers and Salaried Workers Cooperate Credit Union, Doctors Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital Authority, Royal Bank of Canada, As A Matter of Fact, Gems, Tribune Media, Love 97, The Counsellors Print Masters) and the staff at Government House and the dedicated staff of the AMMC Corporation.
