The Starlight Global Foundation, Andbank (Bahamas) Limited and The South African High Commission, hosted "A Night Of Inspiration" featuring musical performances by over 200 of The Bahamas' leading musicians in an invitation-only, open-air concert on January 11, 2014 at Old Fort Bay. Werner Gruner, Director of Andbank (Bahamas) Limited, founded Starlight Global in 2012 with the sole purpose of empowering people and dedicated this event in honor of the late Nelson Mandela.
Prominent guests spoke of their insights and their own journeys. These included: The High Commissioner of South Africa, US Today best-selling author, Dr. Myles Munroe, Canadian best-selling recording artist, Shania Twain and her husband Fred Thiébaud, the respective Bahamian Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Financial Services and Culture, Andbank Chairman, Manel Cerqueda and local Andbank (Bahamas) CEO, Juan Iglesias.
Furthermore the Ambassador of China and the Chargé d'Affairs of The United States Embassy were among the many diplomats who attended. Werner recalled the evening with great excitement: "When you are involved with the nuts and bolts of a function like this, you don't get to appreciate the actual event until you have a chance to sit down and watch it on TV. I am certainly humbled by the impact that it had and am grateful to each individual guest that came out in support of our common cause."
The evening was supported by the Nelson Mandela Foundation. Other supporting partners included The Atlantis Resort and BMW.
